Sochko's Journey of 26.2 Miles begins w/One Step
For those of you who know me, and those of you who don't - my last 30 years have been lived in pain and torment, lies and manipulation. Twenty-One months ago I tried something new. Tired of jails, tired of sleeping under a bridge and tired of being part of the dregs of society, I had finally had enough! There is a saying in Recovery, "Let go and Let God." When I finally got out of my own way, then is when I started seeing miracles in my life. Doors started to open, and the doors of The Lord's Place opened to me. This led to my completing the Chef's Apprenticeship Program, which then led to my being accepted into Joshua House.
Joshua House gave me a secure and supportive environment where I have been able to continue in my recovery. I was able to go to school and have just received my CDL License; and I am fortunate enough to be a mentor at The Lord's Place new Engagement Center where I am able to give back to other homeless individuals. Because I was once where they are, I can share my experience, stength and hope and let them know that if I can do it, then they can do it too!
God Bless You All, and I hope to see you at The Marathon of The Palm Beaches on December 1 & 2, cheering for our HomeTeam!
