Running for a Cause
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
On April 18, 2005, I will line up in Hopkinton, MA to run my third Boston Marathon in the past four years. Many of you know me well and know that I have been an avid runner since the age of 10. In 2002, I committed myself to complete what had been a personal goal of mine for many years: To compete in the world's best marathon.
Running the Boston Marathon that year allowed me to meet this personal goal, however, the experience was much more than just the accomplishment because I decided to run for a great cause.
This year, me and approximately 40 other colleagues and acquintances from Deloitte & Touche are running as part of the Brigham & Women's Hospital Marathon Team to benefit the Ellen Gabriel Breast Cancer Fund. Each runner has personally pledged to raise $2,500, however my personal goal is to far exceed this target
Ellen Gabriel was a colleague of mine at Deloitte & Touche. Ellen did not survive her fight against breast cancer. In an effort to eradicate this malevolent disease, the Ellen Gabriel Breast Cancer Funds are used in the local community to provide at-risk women and women in need free screenings. In addition, the funds are used to educate these women about breast cancer and to offer counseling.
Thank you for visiting my personal site and considering a donation to this great cause. I hope to see many of you along the 26.2 mile course cheering me and my teammates on as we all try to reach our personal goals. Thank you for your support.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
