Thank you for visiting my PRBO Conservation Science Bird-A-Thon page!
This is my 25th Bird-A-Thon, so for my silver anniversary of doing this, I hope you can help me break my best fund raising effort in 2006. For those doing it the first time, to make my team work, you can pledge per species seen in a 24 hour period between Sept 1- Oct 15. My teams will do two counties. In Napa, Knock your Species off team hopes to break 130, in Solano the Solano Species Seekers best is 138, so that is the target. If you can pledge 50 cents a species that would be SUPER. But if you rather have control of your finances (and who doesn't these days), you can pledge a fixed amount.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. But if you want to donate off line, make your check to PRBO Conservation Science and mail it to me at 336 Benson Avenue, Vallejo, CA 94590-3027. Please do not forget to tell me if you want a membership (minimum donation is $40, and $25 for seniors) and where you want your donation to go. California Avian Data Center, Central Valley Songbird Research, Education, Marine (Farallons), Migration Research, Palomarin Field Station (Terrestrial), SF Bay Tidal Marsh, Wetlands Ecology or just da General Fund
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Best in life,
Robin
PS Additional thanks to Tom and Jane Blaisdell, Joanne Castro, Cuz Cecily Chang, Diji Christian, Ned and Janis Dairiki, Jean Epstein, Phyllis and George Ellman, Lillian Fujii and Steve Hayashi, Beth Huning, Tim Jenkins, Sara Mathews, Mark Purdy, Fran Scarlett, Karen Sheldon, Linda Spackman, Wayne and Jean Suzuki, and Uzelle Williams for contributing off line. Thanks, to Tony Battiste Joan Ferguson, Jerry and Theresa Karr and Steve and Diane Rose for pledging, and to Joey Burchfiel, Cuz Ron and Sue Choy, Carl and Shirley Larson, Bob Martin and Myrlee Potosnak for making us work by pledging a total of 6.50 per species. If we could get it to $10 per species it would be totally cool.
Our "Knock your species off" team (Murray Berner, Jim Lomax and I) had 122 species in Napa on Sept 18. Best bird was a Sabine's Gull. The team S3 (Solano Species Seekers) did a Solano Big Day on Oct 2. Our team has an unaudited 127 species.
