This year I bowl to bring more love and happiness in the lives of animals and humans alike.  Eleven years ago my sister-in-law and I, Shawna, started Furry Friends Network to save a few animals.  What we intended to create is nothing close to what we have today simply because of the number of animals in need.

My dog Molly was one of the first FFN dogs.  She came from an outdoor pen in McConnelsburg, PA.  She was so scared and full of parasites.  Molly and her Mom were the lucky ones that day.  FFN was so new that we could not take the other two sisters who were left there and to this day I still think about them...  

Molly had never been inside of a home before but quickly figured out that she liked the comforts of a warm bed.  She is now nearing age 12 but still loves our daily hikes in the mountains, a good roll in deer poop, the constant petting and her gourmet meals. 

Molly opened my eyes to what it means to be rescued because she rescued me from thinking pure bred dogs are better.  Molly is a pure bred love bug and no money in the world could produce a dog as wonderful as Molly.  She has brought me more love and happiness than I ever imagined a dog could give.She even smiles when I come home.  Her rolls in deer poop don't please me much, but it makes her happy!

I am proud to be the mom to a mixed breed, black dog!  She is special in so many ways and has brought an immeasureable amount of joy to our family.  I hope you get the chance to be loved the way we have by your very own rescued dog!
