Two years ago, I decided to fulfill one of my bucket list entries....to jump in the water on January 1st.  So, I looked around at the various groups and decided to join the Penguins for Special Olympics.  That June following the plunge, I volunteered at the Summer games and was extremely taken with the spirit and will of those who struggle with things that we take for granted.  An hour of being chilly pales in comparison to a lifetime of climbing uphill.  So, on the heels of that, I figured that if I was going to ask people for money, this was a great cause! 

For the 2010 plunge, I began fundraising only about 10 days before and raised just under $2,000.  My friends were either extremely generous, or eager to see me jump in ice cold water...maybe both.  Either way, the result was awesome. 

This year I am starting a little earlier and raising my goal.  I had hoped for $1k last time and reached nearly 2K.  For the 2012 plunge, I am aiming higher.  Please help me reach my goal with whatever you can give!
