Kennel Up- Robin McCune
I have committed to raising funds by locking myself in a kennel on Saturday, March 19th and not leaving until I have raised my goal of $500. This presents a slight problem as I am running this event! I will really need to raise the money prior to that date so that I can be free to assist others in their fundraising efforts.
I am dedicating this fundraising effort to my three senior kitties; Jack, Eli and Addie. Eli and Addie were both adopted from the Animal Rescue League of NH over ten years ago and Jack was found in a dumpster over twelve years ago. The three cats are so very different in their "purrsonalities;" Jack is a real brute, a tough guy that won't hesitate to whack you one if he feels slighted in some way. At night though, he curls up with you and purrs so loud you would think a freight train is coming.
Eli was my failure-to-thrive kitty, the rest of his litter did not make it, they were just too sickly. I used to bring Eli everywhere with me; I would zip him up in my sweatshirt and hit the road. Eli was the perfect shoulder-kitty and never left my side. At 12 years old, he is still my baby.
Then came Addie. A real goofball and love bug, I nicknamed him "Boomerang Kitty" as every morning I would wake up with him deciding my face was the best place to take his morning nap. I would grumpily push him off the bed only to find him back on my head in less than five seconds. Addie is my sensitive kitty and tends to "express" his concerns over new animals or furniture that has been moved in places other than his litterbox.
Even with their strong personalities and issues, I love my cats and they have truly made the last ten years of my life quite interesting. I encourage anyone who is interested in adopting a cat to visit the kitties at the Animal Rescue League of NH and learn just how much a new feline friend can enrich their lives.
(Psst! Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Thank you for your support!)
Don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
