The Picture on the right side is of me and World renowned Porphyria Specialist Dr. James Kushner.

I have a Rare Blood disorder called Erythropoietic Protoporphyria (EPP). My blood absorbs to much of the Suns rays causing me tremendous burning pain from the inside out.  

After 8 1/2 years of testing I was refered to Dr. Kushner who diagnosed me with in minutes. I was very blessed to have Dr Kushner as my Doctor for the last 36 years, because there are very few Porphyria Specialists around the world. EPP being such a rare Disease not many Doctors know how to treat it, or much about it at all.

Dr. Kushner retired this year leaving a great void to be filled in the Porphyria Specialist.
 

Protect the Future is a Program that provides trainning and resources to bring in the Next Generation of Specialists. Without these Specialists the lives of present and future people with Porphyria will not get the same care that I was so privilaged to have.
