Hola Mis Amigos!

  To all of you who followed my trip to the Dominican Republic, you know that it was a life changing experience for me.  I have continued to build on that experience in my residency continuity clinic by working at a largely hispanic low income clinic.  This has been incredibly rewarding and has continued to improve my grasp of spanish, but I could use another "booster course".  I also continue to be amazed by how different cultures and beliefs can affect people's health, and wish to continue exploring other cultures and looking at different approaches to wellness.  To this end, I am using an elective month in Feb 2010 to spend a month working at the pediatric hospital in La Paz, Bolivia.  Other residents tell me that it is an amazing program, including spanish lessons, imersion by staying with a local family as well as great medical experience at the hospital. I am very excited about this opportunity, and would appreciate any help that you can give to help me get there!
