Climb Up...Alot....So Kids Can Grow Up
Hello, my name is Rocco, and I am a participant in the 2009 Climb Up event to benefit children with AIDS. If you are here it means you are considering making a donation, so I would first and foremost like to thank you for taking the time to look over my donation page. Now, let me tell you why I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.
This is my third year supporting this event, and I work hard to raise money for the American Foundation for Children with AIDS every year through the Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up event. This event, and this organization, provide me with a wonderful and much appreciated opportunity to use climbing, the thing I love to do most, to give something back to the world. They allow me the chance to go climbing and leave selfish motivations behind, and instead to use my precious pastime to make a difference in the lives of sick and helpless children. Events like this are a rare thing in the world of athletics, and are exceptionally rare in the climbing community. The only way events like this are going to be able to continue doing their great and selfless humanitarian work, and the only way opportunities for other organizations and events like this one will be able to start and flourish in our community, is through support from people like yourself.
On September 26, 2009 I will spend the day climbing 50 boulder problems in Joe's Valley, UT from V2-V10. Make no mistake, this is no easy task, and will be exhausting at best. My penance for your generosity!!! Please help me reach my goal of $400 by donating anything you can. No amount is too small, and every year I'm equally excited to see the $5 donations as I am the $100 ones. Thank you so very much for your help, and if you happen to be in the area on the 26th, please feel free to come out and help me get through the day.
-Rocco
I would also like to thank those who support me whole-heartedly, year after year, in both my climbing and in my humanitarian endeavours:
Five Ten, Vline, Verve, and Red Bull.
