Rod Lauredo's Run For Autism Page
One of every 166 people is diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. If you do not have a family member or friend or someone you know with this disorder chances are that soon you will.
We have a son, Oliver, with Asperger’s Syndrome (a form of Autism). He is now 15 years old. When he first got diagnosed at age 4 in 1996 there was barely any information on Asperger’s. We now know, through years of interventions and therapies, that children like Oliver can become productive citizens and reach their maximum potential. But if these children do not receive services they do not advance.
Oliver has been blessed with outstanding professionals and teachers who have also helped him advance. Having lived his progress and set backs, we know that all these children can reach their goals.
The Organization for Autism Research (http://www.researchautism.org/news/run/index.asp) is about NOW. It is about helping the children, teens and adults TODAY
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to run or donate too! If you are a runner, please consider running and getting sponsors. The amount you can raise is not the issue. We need to raise awareness.
Let’s run together. Run For Autism.
