GOING THE (EXTRA) DISTANCE

I've previously run three 26.2-mile marathons for OAR and have had good fund-raising success on each: In 2007 I raised $7,171, in 2008 raised $6,370, and in 2009 raised $6,721 for a total of $20,262.

So for 2011 I'm raising the distance bar from 26.2 miles to a 100 kilometer (62-mile) ultra-marathon in hopes of also doubling the fund-raising bar to the $18,000 mark.

I'm running the "Palm 100", a 100K race on March 26, 2011 ( http://palm100.com/ ).  Most people run these 100 kilometers (62 miles) as part of a six-member relay team, each member running about 16 kilometers (10 miles), I'm running the whole course as an individual.  Should be fun.
