Stephanie's Legacy
How do you go about trying to describe a child? After all, she was only 7, not a star yet, she had not won a Nobel Prize or climbed Mount Everest or raised a family of her own, but she was full of promise, so bright and vibrant that anything was possible. But, we learned that our precious daughter, Stephanie, had an inoperable brain tumor and would not have the chance to fulfill that promise.
There was little information and very few treatment options available. From our own despair, we formed the American Brain Tumor Association 35 years ago.
Stephanie’s legacy is the progress that has been made in understanding and treating brain tumors, and the increased number of survivors today, compared to 1973. There are over 350,000 people now living with the diagnosis of a brain tumor; the research Stephanie inspired is now theirs and those who will follow.
The American Brain Tumor Association has been at the heart of the search for answers, and for a cure. Each year the Association awards more than $2 million for brain tumor research and provides knowledge and hope to millions of patients and family members.
Stephanie’s legacy lives on through your support of the American Brain Tumor Association. Be a part of the legacy - make a donation today!
With hope for the future,
