It’s hard to imagine that our Barefoot Coaching Program has reached its 5th anniversary. As you know, I was the first to do it. What a life changing moment for me and my family!
When I said yes to the request from Samaritan's Feet, I had no idea how that decision would change my life so dramatically. I am humbled that thousands of coaches have said yes to coach barefoot to raise awareness for Samaritan’s Feet and the 300 million children around the world who are forced to go barefoot because they don’t own a pair of shoes.
I have had the privilege of delivering thousands of pairs of shoes in Peru, Nigeria, Costa Rica, Indianapolis, Charlotte and Atlanta. I never get tired of making a child smile by giving them a new pair of shoes and socks.
I hope you decide to join our efforts at Georgia State to impact 10,000 impoverished children with a new pair of shoes. Our goal this year is to raise $100,000, which will provide 10,000 children with a new pair of shoes and socks in Atlanta and Nigeria. With your help, we will reach our goal.
Just one game coached in my bare feet will change the life of a child forever.
Samaritan’s Feet was started eight years ago to put 10 million pairs of shoes on children’s feet in 10 years around the world. Samaritan’s Feet serves the impoverished in over 62 countries around the world and has placed new shoes on the feet of more than 3.5 million children.
As more coaches stand ‘barefoot’ together, the impact will continue to grow and more children will be given hope.
Will you provide a voice for the 300 million barefoot children around the world and the impoverished children right here in the US who are wearing shoes with holes in them or are two sizes too small?
