I am walking again this year to help support research and advancement in the study of Epilepsy.  I myself have been affected greatly by Epilepsy since the age of 14.  It is sad to say that they still do not have a treatment for Epilepsy itself but instead they have treatments for the brain that just happen to stop seizures.  Seizures can range from petite mal (staring spells) to grand mal (falling down), even though medication may stop the frequency most Epileptics still feel the adverse affects of medication and or the Epilepsy itself.  Medical research for Epilepsy specifically and medication along with gene typing is costly but the only way that people affected by Epilepsy have a chance for a normal life. So I walk for the hope that there will someday be a cure or medication with little-to-no side affects.  Today’s medications can cause depression, memory loss, or weight gain/loss-to name a few.  

Ghandi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”  I don’t want this problem to affect others as it has affected me, so please support me so that we together can help promote change.
