Hi, I'm Joey! I came to the DCSPCA as a stray when i was around one-year-old on 2/2/08.
I am the first to admit I am an oversized goofball with boundless energy. When I arrived at the shelter, I had no idea how to follow basic commands, walk on a leash.....let's just say my manners were awful!
The staff at the DCSPCA were very patient with me, giving me the skills I needed to show my full potential and become more adoptable. They had faith in the dog I could be, and all our hard work paid off on 2/4/10, when I met my adopter!
I couldn't be happier in my new home, and finally know what it's like to be loved unconditionally. I am such a good boy now, and I return to the DCSPCA all the time to get spiffy at their Mutt-Hutt Dog Grooming.
I am proud to be walking this year's Petwalk to represent all my friends who have been abandoned, neglected, abused, and overlooked that remain at the shelter waiting patiently for their second chance at a happy home like mine.
