The ultimate drive of the NAMTP (National AIDS Marathon Training Program) is to raise funds for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. Dear Friends and Family,
I can’t believe I’m actually saying this … I will be running a
MARATHON this year!
That's right, I will be participating in the Florence 2007
Marathon on November 25 … running 26.2 miles through this Italian city.
I am part of a six-month training program and will be running a little farther each week. In total, I expect to log nearly 500 miles. Running a marathon is something very new for me, and since, well, I'm a writer, I will be keeping a Journal to keep you updated on my training progress (updated November 30th). It's all part of the National AIDS Marathon Training Program, which raises money for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago to fund direct medical care, food, housing, and other vital AIDS services — to help keep people with HIV/AIDS alive until there's a cure. I am committed to raise at least $3,900 (although of course I would like to raise more) … and I'm asking for your support.
