We are every excited to be working with Adventures for the Cures to raise money for important womens' issues!  We will be working as sherpas for the Women’s Motorcycling Foundation ride in Colorado coming up in August. This new fundraiser brings together 14 incredible women new to dual sport motorcycle riding.  A “Baker’s” Dozen, these 14 women have committed to raise at least $2000 each for a minimum donation of $28,000 for the event - all going toward cancer research. We will be part of their support team, doing what sherpas do (as in making it to the top of Mount Everest would be impossible without the sherpas) by making sure they have a safe, enjoyable and successful ride.

We both began riding motorcycles at an early age through  the woods and back roads of rural North Carolina.  Shirley began riding around age 8, and Roy was around 10 when he started.  We both graduated to street bikes in our teens, an interest that drew us together in friendship in high school that led to dating, and you can just guess where that went.  32 years of marriage and many thousand miles later, we find ourselves going back to our roots - to dual sport riding and the back country roads of our home state.  We both have worked with Kawasaki doing demo rides for more than 10 years and have been fortunate enough to see a bit of this beautiful country on two wheels.  Riding is a passion that we share, and we are honored to be a part of the Adventure for the Cures.
