Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
On November 10th, we will be running our first marathon in Santa Barbara, California and are dedicating our race (26.2 miles) to the relief of Hurricane Sandy that devastated several parts of the Northeast and asking you to join us in supporting those in need.
Many areas that were impacted are close to home for both of us. Jacki has been a summer resident of the Jersey Shore all her life. This area was badly impacted; many people lost their homes, hundreds were damaged, and some even blew off their foundations. The AC boardwalk broke off in many pieces and damaged nearby homes and businesses.
Noel grew up in Queens, NY which was also badly impacted by the storm as was Long Island and NYC where we both have friends and family members. Over 50 homes in Queens were lost due to an outrageous fire in Breezy Point. Tony Laino, a childhood friend of Noel’s, was killed when a tree tore right through his home.
These are only a few examples of the devastation that a thousand miles stretch of the Northeast experienced. Millions have lost power and the estimated cost of the damages is over $20 billion which is why we feel compelled to do something. There are so many people who need our help so we’ve made donating simple and secure. Please feel free to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
If you personally were impacted by Hurricane Sandy, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
Thank you in advance for your donation!
