Dear Friends and Family,
In honor of my upcoming 36th birthday, would you join me in supporting Doctor's without Borders, one of my all-time favorite humanitarian organizations with a tax-deductible donation of just $18? Why Doctors without Borders and Why $18? Because for my birthday, what would be great this year is to make a quick and positive and tangible impact in the world. And in my opinion, Doctors without Borders does this exceptionally.
In fact, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) provides aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters. MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to those most in need. In 1999, MSF received the Nobel Peace Prize.
So why $18? Here's 3 reasons:
1) Because if each of my 300 friends (according to facebook) donated $18 each we'd reach the target (see below what $5400, provides)!
2) Remember when you were 18 years old, how idealist you were? You can recapture that today. And besides did you know that the number 18 is good luck in Hebrew and someone recently told me that whatever you donate to a good cause will return to you 10 x over in the next 12 months (so by donating you'll actually be making money in the long run)
3) By giving $18, you'll be sending a message energetically that the recession is over. And in the words of the Avenue Q song, "Giving to a good cause, feels great."
I'll be matching the first $500 raised. So if you have even an inkling do donate $18 (or more if you wish), please do it now, as this effort will going through August 12th! thanks for considering this.
Best wishes,
Russ
