Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page for Special Olympics Virginia’s 2012 Polar Plunge® Winter Festival. Donating through this site is totally safe and secure. And you don't even have to get your feet wet!!!
Special Olympics Virginia uses sports as a catalyst to change society’s perceptions and treatment of people with intellectual disabilities. By sponsoring me in the Polar Plunge® you are helping Special Olympics Virginia continue its mission to change the lives of more than 10,000 athletes across the state. I invite you to join me and experience heartwarming extremes as I seize the freeze and plunge into the icy Atlantic Ocean this February.
This is an incredible cause, and I thank you for your gracious support. Please don’t forget to forward this to your friends and family. I appreciate any support you can provide as together, we help Special Olympics Virginia.
This is my 5th year participating in this fundraising event. Each year all of my supporters collectively have helped me raise over $4000.00 A good number of these people are KNUCKLEHEADS... you know who you are, and I am honored to be a part of the group. I am hoping that this year can be just as successful. I need your help. Please reach deep into your heart and give as generously as you comfortably can. Remember that I have had donations that were less than $1.00 (from a very young boy) to over $300.00 (from a very good friend). No amount too small, no amount too large.
The past several years I have been lucky enough to aquire some corpprate sponsors. The Beach Pier Gift shop, located on the Va. Beach fishing pier is open all year. They have some of the most unique gifts, not souviners, that you will find anywhere. Homemade fudge and one of the best sea shell stores ever!!! Check them out. Coastal Framing has also donated framing and framed photos for auction. The Downtowner Magazine and The Washington Redskins are also some of the others. So join in with them and others and together we can make a HUGE DIFFERENCE to some truly beautiful people. The Washington Redskins have donated a very nice autographed picture of Chris Cooley. It is being framed by Coastal Framing on 48th Street in Norfolk. It will be given away by a drawing of names of ALL donors. The drawing will take place right after The Plunge. We will have a neutral party pick the name from my Redskin helmet. We will ost the winner in our email folowing The Plunge. All donors will also recieve a photo recap of the event to enjoy. Not to mention the thrill and the good karma of giving.
If you want to donate without a credit card, please write a check or money order made out Special Olympics of Virginia. Mail that to

Or you can call me at 757-567-4785 and we can make plans for me to pick up your donation. I look forward to hearing from you!!!
All are invited to join us in our room at The Ramada Inn to watch the event. Call on Friday or Saturday to get our room numbers. The Plunge starts at 2:00 p.m. and only lasts 30 minutes but the festivities start at 10:00 a.m.Good food, good good people, GREAT cause.
There is more that one way to help out. If you can not afford to donate your money, there is a need for volunteers to help with the set-up, the party before, the party after,etc... Or you can try to raise money and come feel the thrill with rest of us crazies or just come and cheer everyone on.
Please note that the total money raised is actually $80.00 less than posted. I posted a couple of donations twice and this is no way to remove them.
