The 2010 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics was a success. Over $800,000.00 has already been raised with more coming in everyday. More than 2500 plungers braved the 39 degree Atlantic Ocean in the middle of a nor'easter that brought snow. The air was about 32 degrees with a wind chill of about 20 degrees.COLD, COLD, COLD. Especially when wearing my little Redskin bikini. I am already looking forward to next year. Saturday, February 5th, 2011.
The Washington Redskins, one of my corprate sponsors, donated an authentic, hand autographed, Santana Moss jersey to be auctioned for this event. That alone would be enough for me to jump into that cold water. My friends and donors,Bob and Izzie Burnett, had the high bid at $300.00 I know they will enjoy owning and wearing that jersey. I want to thank everyone who helped to make that auction a success.Remember there is more than one way to be a part of something big. Donate, plunge, volunteer,spectate... Whatever you decide, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.
