Hello Family and Friends

On Oct. 24th I will be running  in a 50k(30.8 miles) race sponsored by North Face. I will be running in honor of my hero, my daughter Katie. Katie was diagnosed at age 4 with cystinosis, a rare genetic disease which largely affects the kidneys. For most of Katies life, she has had to take well over 50 pills a day to keep her disease in check along with numerous hospitalizations. Last year she recieved a kidney from her dad which has brought down the number of pills she has to take to about 30. The transplant was not a cure, she still lives with cystinosis. She has endured more than most of us ever will and she has done it with a kind and courageous spirit. I am so proud of her.  I want to do something to help Katie and other children with this disease so I am running to raise money for the Cystinosis Research Foundation which puts all of its donations into research to find a cure.
