Wedding Marches for Marriage Equality

Ryan & Moe

On May 19th 2007 we'll be marching across the Golden Gate Bridge to raise funds and awareness for Marriage Equality USA. Our march will be done in conjunction with a Marriage Equality march across the Brooklyn Bridge that is occurring at the same time.  We hope that our day of "Wedding Marches for Marriage Equality" will result in raising funds and awareness for Marriage Equality USA.

We hope that you can help us meet our fundraising goal by making a financial donation.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is, also, the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts.  Your contribution will go a long way towards helping us achieve our goal of securing Marriage Equality.  If you would like more information about our organization, our mission, and goals please visit www.marriageequality.org

Ryan and Moe*

*Ryan and Moe met in 2001 against the odds of ever becoming a couple. They met with the intention of just being friends, for their paths were clearly headed in different directions. Moe and Ryan were 7 years apart in age. Ryan had just committed to an overseas teaching contract that would have him working abroad for at least 1 year, while Moe was considering relocating to the east coast to further his career. Ryan grew up in a small rural community while Moe grew up in the Bay Area. Ryan often referred jokingly to himself as a "cracker". Moe was a very proud Latino American. Ryan came from a small family: Mom, Dad and one sister. Moe had nine brothers and sisters total in his family. However, on the day before Ryan was to leave for his teaching assignment in Japan, the two of them discovered that they were no different from any other couple who had met and had fallen in love.

In 2004, Ryan and Moe were married in City Hall. It seemed the most natural thing to do since marriage has to do with love, commitment, and responsibility. Together they have been supported by their family and friends. They are committed to each other and to ending marriage discrimination so that all families can can be treated equally and under the law.
