Okay, wonderful people--you know the drill!
This year, however, will be a little different: Instead of Cedar Point, I'm going down to Kings Island to challenge the legendary Racer! From 7 in the morning until 5 in the evening, we will brave the wooden juggernaut as it tosses us around the Coney Island section of the park. And, as icing on the cake, we will take a few night rides on the immortal Beast, come park closing. It's going to be a great, great event, but we need to raise some money! $75 is chump change; let's see if we can break our record from last year, which was over $500!
Give Kids The World is a tremendous organization that raises money, so children with terminal illneses can enjoy one or two days at a theme park of their choice. A day at an amusement is, of course, short-lived, but any joy we can provide such a child can go a long way. I know, because I met one of these kids last year, and the joy on her face throughout the day was something I will always remember.
"Give Kids The World has made a promise to never turn a child away. For 70 percent of the year however, the Village runs above 100 percent occupancy, meaning some families must lodge off property during their Wish Trip. For this reason, Give Kids The World Village is in the midst of the largest expansion project in its history.
Demand for Central Florida wishes is forecast to increase about six percent each year through 2015. To accommodate this growth the Village will need to expand to approximately 192 villas. Every person you tell about this mission, will help bring GKTW one step closer to achieving this goal.
Donating through this site is simple, fast, and totally secure. Your contribution to my personal fundraiser for Give Kids The World will make a difference in the lives of these special children. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to share this opportunity with anyone who you think might want to donate to the Village as well!
Thank you so much!"
