Race against Poverty
Hi, Everyone!
Thanks so much for visiting my fundraising website. Inspiration Corporation is a wonderful and vital institution that strives to end homelessness in
Chicago . One of its primary fundraising campaigns is Team Inspiration, which is a group of people who collect donations, run the Chicago Marathon, and promote one of
Chicago ’s most life-giving organizations. With your gift, 100% of your contribution will benefit homeless Chicagoans by funding supportive, housing, and employment services. I highly encourage you to check out their website http://www.inspirationcorp.org/ and to support Team Inspiration in its race against poverty.
On a personal note, the 2007 Chicago Marathon will be my third 26.2 miler. I became a runner about three years ago because I found beauty and grace in running, and I wanted these virtues to be an intimate part of my life; however, I wasn’t serious about racing at that time. This lack of competitive drive didn’t last long, and it changed with a single, bold thought: “I am 21 years old, and I will never be 21 again. I want to run a marathon.” At that time I had no idea how long a marathon was? Was it 26 miles? 13? Was the Cleveland Marathon shorter than the
Chicago ? How do I train? What do I eat? As I built the miles to my first marathon, I completely fell in love with the sport, and I felt its positive affects throughout all aspects life. Now that I am 24 and training for the 2007 Chicago Marathon, I still feel that same love as when I first began; however, I also want to share with others the grace and beauty I have found in running. One thing led to the next and before long, I joined Team Inspiration because I want to turn my passion into a life-giving, compassionate means of community development. Please support me and all of Team Inspiration, as we strive together to end poverty.
Many, many thanks for your support!
