Run for the border!
I am running the Chicago Marathon. 26.2 grueling miles. You know I wouldn't be running if it weren't for a good cause.
I am doing this all as part of Team World Vision to help make a difference in our world. We are raising funds for the North Borders Project in Mexico. The border crossing between the U.S. and Mexico at Tijuana is the busiest in the world. Although some aspects of Tijuana’s economy – like tourism – are strong, many poor workers on the southern fringes of the city struggle to support their families by working 12 hour shifts at low-paying factories. About 40% of Mexican citizens live below the poverty line. World Vision is helping these communities and those around Nogales develop sustainable growth, both socially and economically.
World Vision is one of the most trusted humanitarian relief and development organizations in the world. They work to tackle the root causes of poverty and create sustainable solutions through transformational community development.
I am so excited to be taking part in this event. But more importantly, I am excited that I get the opportunity to do something for some of the world’s most vulnerable children and their communities.
Will you join me in making a difference in the lives of these precious children?
You can support my effort in one of three ways…
1) Make an online donation right now thru this page
2) Sponsor a Child by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page,
and sponsor a child in Mexico for $30 per month
3) Join Team World Vision and participate in this event
Thank you so much for your support.
