Amazing Ava is doing amazing things! Ava started preschool when she turned 3 in February, made several new friends and is learning so much. This summer she had swim lessons and attended VBS at our church for the first time. Besides only one short stay in the hospital in April and still using her g-tube for supplementing fluids, she is very healthy and active. We are so proud of her and what a little "ambassador" she has become in educating our community that people with Down syndrome are "more alike than different."
Unfortunately we are unable to participate in this year's Step Up for Down Syndrome, but we would still like your help raising money for the wonderful services that DSACC provides. Not only our loved ones with Down syndrome benefit from this organization, but there are also programs for parents, siblings, grandparents, health care providers, and new families.
We've been blessed by the generosity of our family and friends in the past, so please let your donations continue to help! Feel free to forward this to others. Sometimes it's hard to find a charity that is close to your heart, but I hope DSACC will touch you; all of this money stays local to help families in the central valley, with loved ones just like Ava!
Much love, Josh, Sally, Luke, Gianna, & Ava Fernandes
