Samantha Urquhart-Foster's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
For the past two years I've run the ING Georgia half marathon for the 65ROSES team. This year I decided to do something different and attempted to run a marathon on that same date (March 21), in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. I had tummy issues the night before that unfortunately, continued during the race. I got quite ill and only made it 16 miles before being told my race was over. But just like my friend Susan, and many other people with Cystic Fibrosis, I'm not going to let a bad day keep me from striving forward. So, I'm going to look at 3/21 as a day of a 16 mile training run, rather than a failed marathon, and have picked the Blue Ridge Parkway marathon on 4/24 as my next goal.
I'm running for the 65ROSES team because of my dear friend, Susan Burroughs, who has Cystic Fibrosis. She is an amazing woman! When my daughter and I first moved to our little town, Susan welcomed us warmly and has been a huge support to us through the past six years. Susan has gone through many challenges with Cystic Fibrosis, but always has a positive, uplifting spirit.
I hope you will help by making a small (or large) tax deductible donation! If you or someone you know has Cystic Fibrosis, let me know and I'll gladly dedicate a mile of happy/healing thoughts for them during my 26.2 mile journey on April 24, 2010.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
