Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As most of you know, I have dedicated the last 4 years of my life to teaching students that come from under-represented areas in St. louis, Missouri because I passionately believe that education is the key to escaping poverty. I often think about my hometown of Lansing, Michigan and how I can help create change in the community that I come from. However, I knew it would be difficult to do from a distance.
Luckily, I was given the opportunity to participate in a life-changing program last summer. 4th and 1 East Lansing is a program for students that come from under-represented areas in the Lansing area. The students at the camp stayed on campus at Michigan State University and received ACT, life-skills, and football training. We impacted lives in great ways in one week and have continued to do so through mentoring relationships set up as part of the camp. We are looking forward to impacting more lives in July 2012 and need your help financially!
As an educator that teaches a class full of disadvantaged youth everyday, I know how important it is for these kids to have the opportunity to spend a week of their summer attending a free camp that is inspiring, educational, and full of love, respect, and support. They totally deserve it!
Please help me achieve my goal of sponsoring 7 student-athletes from the Lansing area by raising $2439.50 (Room & Board, Jersey, Shorts, Backpack, ACT Prep Materials, Dinner Etiquette). I want to help lift them up just as many people once did for me!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
