All of us have been given a set of God given skills and talents, to be used to make a living, provide for our families, and to help our fellow mankind.  Over 42 years ago I was taught a skill while serving in the Army in Viet Nam...to rappel out of helicopters.  This was a skill that I never thought I would ever use again.

Then came along the "Over the Edge" fund raising event sponsored by the Special Olympics.  What a great way to use a skill that has been stored away in the memory closet all these years, to help a great organization help those who have not been as blessed as I have.  So I decided to take the challenge....even though it was not on my bucket list!!!

But there is one catch....I need financial donations to get me to take that first step backwards off of the roof of the  Financial Center in down town Des Moines.  I ask you to please, yes you (don't depend on the other guy) to reach into your wallet and generously give what you can....to help me help Special Olympics help others.  Trust me, it will put a smile on your face and someone else's.  And on the day of the jump, Wednesday, Sept. 19th, it will help me celebrate my 63rd birthday....all 345 feet of it down to Grand Ave.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure, and much easier than stepping off of a very tall building.  It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
