Such fun
Hello Everyone!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Once again I'll be walking for the Humane Society of Broward County's annual Walk for the Animals. This year I'll be walking with Annie, our 14 month old Corgi, adopted from the shelter in December. Her sister Cleo, the cat who rules the world, was adopted in October.
I continue to volunteer two days a week at the shelter. This year has been an especially demanding and expensive one. Our staff and volunteers made numerous trips to the Gulf Coast to aid in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. They rescued animals, reunited some with their families, fed them and provided medical care - and rebuilt shelters. We brought many of the animals back here for adoptiion.
Needless to say this was not in our budget!
This was the first year we provided a local hurricane shelter which accepted families with their animals. The Red Cross cared for the humans and we looked after the animals housed in the same building. Since many people won't leave their homes to seek shelter if they can't take their animals with them, this was a wonderful service when we were hit by Hurricane Wilma.
Now I am writing to ask you to sponsor Annie and me in raising funds for the Humane Society.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate. Please feel free to share this with friends and family who may be interested in our work.
Thank you so much!
Sandy
