Sara-Elizabeth Clark's Fundraising Page
Welcome!
Sara-Elizabeth Clark, Itsnotwhoiam.com and the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York would like to invite you to support Sara’s 5th Annual Walk for Epilepsy and Sara’s 5K Sprint for Epilepsy being held on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at The State University of New York at New Paltz (SUNY).
Sara-Elizabeth, now seizure-free, had her first seizure when she was 16 months old. Throughout her young life, Sara experienced both tonic clonic and partial complex uncontrollable seizures. Four years ago, Sara-Elizabeth, now 15-years-old, and a New Paltz High School student, turned her focus outward and organized this annual event as a way to create awareness of the disease.
“My first four walks raised over $50,000.00, which went towards programming right here in the Upper Hudson Valley” she said. “I hope this year’s walk and race will be even more successful in helping others with seizure disorders and will help demystify the ever present stigma that some people have regarding people with Epilepsy.”
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that affects one in fifty children and one in one hundred adults. Sara’s Walk , Sara’s Sprint and itsnotwhoiam.com are valuable resources that help provide information and assistance to thousands of people with epilepsy served by the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York in the 22 counties they serve. Your generous support of this year’s event will help Sara-Elizabeth come that much more closer to her personal quest to break the stigma associated with epilepsy for the more than 45,000 people affected by epilepsy in our area. Rarely is an extended family, friend, or business unaffected by this often misunderstood disorder called epilepsy.
Please help Sara-Elizabeth, Itsnotwhoiam.com, The Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York, and all people whose lives have been touched by epilepsy to fulfill their shared mission.
