Sara Goodno's Fundraising Page
Sara enjoyed her 6th grade year keeping busy with basketball, soccer and softball and even homework. It's been five years since Sara's first seizure. Time has gone by so fast and we have been blessed with another seizure free year for Sara!!!
Because the EFM was there to help us when we needed support, our family has a strong commitment to supporting it--so it will be there to support others in need. Both Sara and Kevin worked the EFM booth at the state fair, we have all participated in various EFM fundraisers, Kevin and Sara have advocated for legislation that would benefit people with epilepsy, Sara has been the spokes kid for the organization, and Kevin has served as the EFM Board President for the past year.
On August 12th, the Goodno family will be walking again in the Stroll for Epilepsy. Last year we raised almost $7,000 for the Epilespy Foundation. Our goal this year is to raise $5000.
Each year we come into contact with more people who either have epilepsy or know someone who has experienced a seizure. Epilepsy is actually very common (2.5 million Americans have epilepsy and 50,000 Minnesotans have epilepsy). And for some people that have a difficult time controlling their seizures, it can be a very trying time for those affected by epilepsy. The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota is a great organization to get information and support for families affected by seizures.
