Our son Eric "Zane" Parrish was born on May 11, 2010 8 weeks early to the day. He weighed 1lbs. 9oz., he was immidiently taken to Riley Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome when I was 18 weeks pregnant, he has a heart defect (complete AV cannal deffect). At 2 months old he underwent a heart surgery to temporaraly fix(PA Band) his heart deffect till he was big enough and strong enough to endure that full repair. At 3 months of age he underwent another surgery that consisted of a feeding tube, repair 3 hernias, and his stomach clamped off at the top to help with his reflux problem. The surgery went great but in the long run with his heart problem and his extenssive lung disease, it was just to much. He developed Pulminary Hypertension and his lungs were becoming stiff from having to constantly be on the ventalator. He slowly started getting worse and the doctors told us there was nothing more  that they could do. He was brain dead and much, much more. We knew that our son was already with God, but we had to make the horrible decision on whether or not to take him off life support. At 1:35am Sunday September 26, 2010  we took him off our little Angel died in our arms. He put up a long hard battle and did all that he could. He has taught us so many lessons, and many other people. He has changed lives and even though he is not with us today he is still changing lives. As my husband and I always say, " We did not have a baby we had an ANGEL!!" 

My husband and I plan on do the buddy walk still in memory of our son. This is our first and I know we will enjoy it. Thank you again. God Bless.
