Eric and Sara's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my 2009 Walk for Farm Animals fundraising page!
We are participating in the Walk for Farm Animals to help Farm Sanctuary raise awareness about the realities of factory farming.
As most of you know, I (Sara) spent three months in 2007 living and working on the farm in Watkins Glen, NY as a shelter intern. Those months were some of the very most meaningful of my life. Meeting so many animals face to face and getting to know them on a more personal level is a life-changing experience. During this time I also participated in many educational activities including a few trips to a local stockyard. These experiences further strengthened my resolve to do what I can to help these animals live better lives.
This month (August 2009) we were both able to make a trip back to New York and volunteer during the Farm Sanctuary hoe down. After volunteer shifts we had plenty more time to spend with the animals and Eric was able to get to know them better too. He marks this time spent with the animals as his favorite part of our over week long trip.
In September we will be participating in a local walk to raise money and awareness for farm animals, with the donations raised going toward the animals at the two Farm Sanctuary shelters (there is one in California in addition the the one in New York).
We realize money is tight for many lately, but we would appreciate any donations you can give. Even if you aren't able to at this time, feel free to forward our page on to others you may feel would like to help.
