It's hard to believe it's that time of year again....time to start fundraising for this year's Lupus event.  I am very excited to be doing something closer to home, and helping to plan it this time!  This year we'll be walking at the Waterford Speedbowl.  It's going to be a great event with lots of cool stuff for all the kids, so I am really hoping to have a big team- everyone's invited to join up and walk with Team Edmond.

Medically, this past year has been great for me.  I've felt good, have gone back to work full time and haven't lost my mind, and am looking forward to summer (how many more days?).  I'm certainly lucky that my Lupus remains under control and has a minimal impact on my day to day life, but I don't walk for myself.  I walk for all the people with this disease who aren't so lucky, and for all the families who have lost someone they love.  We're working towards a cure.

All the funds we raise will go to the Lupus Foundation of America.  Your donation is tax deductible, and if you are a business and want to be a sponsor, you can contact me directly to find out how you can help and receive recognition on the day of the walk (and maybe even some cool perks at the event itself).

Last year, when Team Edmond participated in Hamden's Walk for Lupus Now, we were the top fundraisers, raising just $40 shy of $2000 in a very short time.  I'd love to do that again, and even beat the record.  Please consider helping by making even a small donation, or better yet, by joining our team and fundraising yourself.  How great would it be for Team Edmond to fill the track?
