Dr. Laurel 'Muffin' Johnson Lyons was a very loving, compassionate, talented, and intelligent person that I never got to meet, as she took her own life in July of 1994. I have heard so many amazing stories of what kind of person she was, and I honestly can say that I wished I had the pleasure of meeting her. Suicide effects everyone; not simply just the immediate family members of the person who has passed away... even fifeteen years after her passing, her presence is still felt and she is deeply missed.
