On September 20th, we're walking in the 2008 Illinois Waddle. This event is held every year in Dwight, Illinois as a benefit for the Guardian Angel Basset Rescue, Inc. Each year, GABR rescues and places over 250 Basset Hounds in the Indiana and Illinois area. As you can imagine, their vet bills are very large, averaging over $10,000 per month. We've decided to help them raise money to pay those bills.

Our family joined with GABR last November to become a foster family for Bassets looking for forever homes.  Since that time we have fostered five wonderful Bassets.  This has been a wonderful experience for the entire family.  The kids have loved getting to know the dogs and seeing the different personalities.  Of course they have been sad to see the dogs leave when they are adopted but they realize we are helping them find a wonderful home and that is a great thing!
