As many of you know, both of our children, Grace(3) and Lucas(1 1/2), have Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.  Presently there is no cure for this condition, which is the most common genetic risk factor for emphysema and can cause both lung and liver disease.  Alpha-1 is the second leading cause for liver transplantation in children. Grace is asymptomatic, but Lucas presents with an enlarged liver and elevated liver enzymes.   We are taking part in this very important fundraiser for Alpha-1 and are asking you to please help us fund the progress being made in the fight against Alpha-1 related lung and liver disease and its eventual cure!
