My mother Dr. Laurel Drummond Johnson Lyons M.D. took her life in July of 1994. She was a well respected Doctor, mother, wife & friend. Many people knew her and referred to her as "Muffin," a nickname she acquired when she was wee. She was a woman of many talents - she excelled in everything she did. Not only was she a talented and nurturing Physician but she found the time and energy to keep a horse farm, grow beautiful flower and  vegetable gardens as well as raise her children. She was truly a well-rounded and an AMAZING person...

My purpose in organizing "Team Muffin," is to honor her life and to help raise money to help in the prevention of suicide. When someone takes their life they are directly affecting the lives around them...Saving one life could result in saving many lives.
