As most of you know, I am the Board President for Success Preparatory Academy; an elementary school in New Orleans. I have been working with this school since it's inception in 2008. Over the past 3 years, I have made it my goal to support the school, its' students, parents, founders, and faculty as they strive to achieve their mission of developing college bound students for leadership and lifelong learning. I have taken this work so seriously, because each time I visit the school I see myself {yes, that's Baby Sassy in the picture to the right...} in the faces of the students who attend the school; I have found many ways to support the school, and now there is a chance for you to help as well!

 This year we are initiating a new fundraising campaign called Strides for Success. Board Members, Students, Parents, Faculty, Staff and Friends of Success Preparatory Academy are participating in races around the country to raise money for our school. I will be walking in the Crescent City Classic on Saturday, April 23, 2011. My goal is to raise $500.00 in donations for my participation in this event. Any donation amount would be appreciated, and your financial support would help us continue the phenomenal programs already underway in the school. A few important points to know about our school:

•Every student will engage in service learning projects each year.
•Every student will have visited fifteen colleges and universities by the time they graduate from 8th grade.
•Every student will play a musical instrument by the time they graduate from 8th grade.

 These are just a few of the facts that make our school special and unique! I am so proud of the work being done at Success Preparatory Academy, and I hope you all decide to take an active role in continuing its growth and development.
