EVENT UPDATE:
Wow. What a weekend. All three of us put our athletic insecurities to shame by crushing expectations in the race. See our times at http://www.plattsys.com/results/res2009/tririd09.htm. Hint, look for 34, 56, 121. Andrew's performance was by far the most impressive, with a total time of 1:23:47. For his first RACE (not triathlon...he's never raced for anything except dessert) that is quite a speedy time. Great job!!! And we look forward to all the people who want to join our triathlon team for future races. Stay posted as we will formalize the team shortly.
Our loyal, exhausted race fans were pleased to see that post-race festivities were just as exciting as watching Andrew cross the finish line alive and well. The party went off without a hitch, as we proved that damp weather couldn't dampen the spirits of our over 100 attendees! We ate like kings, drank like fish(es?), laughed like lunatics and danced like, well, idiots (ha!) to the grooves of the Darian Cunning Band. Thanks to everyone who helped out including all of our small business sponsors. THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING...WAIT UNTIL WHAT WE HAVE IN STORE FOR OUR NEXT EVENT!!!

Thanks for visiting the fundraising page for The Tri for Alice Organization!
This group was created by Brian Falciglia, Scott Falciglia and Andrew McDermott when they forged their dreams of a cure for Huntington's Disease with their desire to compete in triathlons and other races. This is done in memory of Alice Falciglia who inherited the illness from her father and passed away last winter.
Huntington's Disease ("HD") is a fatal hereditary neurological disorder affecting 1 in 10,000 Americans. Presently there is no cure. The Huntington's Disease Society of America ("HDSA") coordinates the research efforts of 16 experts around the globe to help find a cure. The mission of The Tri for Alice Organization is to enlighten the public about HD and to facilitate donations to HDSA for research. We do this by encouraging current and new members to participate in athletic races like triathlons as a unified team. The goal may be to win each event, but regardless of what place you finish the idea is to "Tri" in memory of Alice.
You can help our mission in several ways! Donations through this website can be made quickly and safely and a donations receipt is e-mailed for tax purposes. We will also accept your business' donation of a good or service to be given away in raffles to financial donors. Last, you can come to one of our events posted here and either compete as a part of our team or just partake in the libation!
Nearly every penny of your financial donation through firstgiving makes it to a lab. Now, last year we helped the HDSA receive over $10,000! This year we'd like to reach $15,000.
