I'm plunging into Lake Champlain on Saturday Feb 5th (yes, I'm serious, it's not a typo) as part of the Burlington Penguin Plunge to raise money for the Vermont Special Olympics. 

I've joined a team of skilled doctors (with poor judgement like me) who are also going to jump into the near-freezing water. Being on a team of critical care doctors seemed like a good plan in case I go into cardiac arrest, but as I think more about it- none of them are polar bears either.... Don't worry- ambulances, EMTs, and Coast Guard rescue divers will be standing by. But to make it fun for you- think of your donation as a wager on my cardiopulmonary system!
