SUCCESS PREPARATORY ACADEMY

mardi gras marathon

mardi gras marathon

Hello Everyone:

Something happened to me right before moving to New Orleans from Chicago; I was bitten by the running bug.  The first marathon was done on behalf of team M3, which is an organization tied to mentorship of high-school aged students, while training for the Chicago Marathon.

My running mentee, Goben Trujillo (in the photo) and I finished the race at the exact same time that October Sunday in 2009.  It was one of the greatest moments of my life.  Since that time, there have been a couple more “long strolls”, with 2011 slated to be the biggest year yet.  With five marathons and a couple of smaller races on the docket, I can’t stop running.

The City of New Orleans is currently undergoing a tremendous revitalization and you can see that change taking place daily in halls of our charter schools.  Since moving to New Orleans, I’ve had the opportunity of working with the phenomenal school board of Success Preparatory Academy at Wicker (http://www.successpreparatory.org/strides-for-success).  The talented men and women on the board and in the classrooms are making a difference in the lives of dozens of future college bounds children.

With that said, I am asking for your help in helping the Success Prep Team in their mission by sponsoring me in one of the following races over 2011:

Feb 6th - The Elmwood Classic

Feb 13th - The Mardi Gras Rock-n-Roll Marathon

Apr 23rd – The Crescent City Classic

May 15th – The Pittsburgh Marathon

Jun 25th – The Rock-n-Roll Seattle Marathon

Oct 11th – The Chicago Marathon

Nov 5th - The Rock-n-Roll Savannah Marathon

Any assistance you can provide to Success Prep is greatly appreciated.  Niloy, St; Claire and the rest of the team will put your contributions to work in furthering our mission of developing college bound students for leadership and lifelong learning.  Thank you for your time and wishing you well.

Sincerely,

Sean
