we are doing this walk to help fund research on scleroderma. you guys probably didn't know this, but kathy had this when she was a baby. to this day, she still raves about how nice everyone is at akron children's hospital.

not a whole lot is known about scleroderma.  it's super rare, there is no cause known, and there is no cure.

after going through a bunch of treatment, the doctors finally gave up, and sent her home to bite the dust. i would imagine that they would all flip out if they found out that, to the best of my knowledge, she did not check out, but is healthy, wealthy (well, kinda), and wise (well, at least more than i am!).

akron children's hospital and scleroderma have been causes she has championed for years, and she's finally found a way to meet other survivors, and help generate some new survivors..
