At a recent conference Bono (from the band U2) was speaking about helping the worlds poorest and he quoted Warren Buffet (one of the richest men in the world). Bono said that Warren told him two things, first, "Bono, don't appeal to the conscious of America... appeal to the greatness of America and I think you'll get the job done." Second, "Don't make it too easy for people... make it difficult for people, they prefer that."  

It is from that spirit and attitude that I have created this page and trust that you and others like you will join me! 

27 Million people around the globe are in slavery. Here in the U.S. the FBI says that there are 300,000 people trafficked ever year!  

On Feb 22nd my sister (Jennifer Shandoff, not in the picture..that is Marlo my wife) and I are going to run a marathon! I am doing this as a personal milestone in my life but we are also honoring those who are survivors of modern day slavery. We are also using this race to raise funds for Transitions Global.
