Huntington’s Disease, also known as HD, is a brain disorder that affects parts of the body involved with movement, thinking, and behavior. For eight to ten years, my father, sister and I have helped my mom deal with her illness; we take her out, get her food, and spend more time with her.  Due to my mom's disease, she is unable to work, do many simple tasks and for the most part cannot drive.  This brings about a bigger challenge for my dad, sister and me. My dad, sister, and I are learning more and more each day about my mom’s disease and how to help her.  We try to encourage her by taking her out and doing various activities that require little or no physical effort.
