Our 6th Annual Anneke Kramer Silent Auction and Softball Tournament to benefit PWSA in honor of Anneke is right around the corner. We are currently in fundraising mode full swing. Please read on and help support us in any way you can. A tax-deductible contribution will fund education and awareness projects and events that will raise awareness and hopefully provide a path towards a cure someday.
As most of you know, my niece, Anneke Jewel, entered our world on July 18, 2006 and was diagnosed with Prader-Willi syndrome shortly after birth. Prader-Willi syndrome is a host of developmental challenges affecting gross and motor skills, speech, cognition, and behavior and presents a myriad of medical issues including low muscle tone, respiratory issues, GI challenges, metabolic dysfunction, temperature instability, and irregular pain detection. An involuntary, uncontrollable hunger is a daily reality for those with PWS and may lead to life-threatening, morbid obesity. PWS is the most common known genetic reason for obesity and occurs in all races and ethnicities worldwide. Those with the syndrome will live a normal life expectancy if provided early intervention, proper medical care and strict environmental controls, but to date, there is no cure. For more information, please visit www.pwsausa.org.
Anneke is doing wonderful. She will be SIX this summer and has a spunk for life that is incredibly heartwarming and inspirational. She brings much love and joy to her family and friends and we are so proud of all her accomplishments as of yet and look forward to watching her grow in the years ahead.
Love transforms lives. Your love and support will improve the lives of those with PWS. Please find it in your heart to support this cause whether it be monetarily, a silent auction donation, being part of a team and enjoying a day of softball, helping us out with the event, prayers or good thoughts - we appreciate every bit you can do. The online donating is fast, secure and easy to do.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Shannon and the family of Anneke Kramer
