Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center! BARCC is the only provider of comprehensive rape crisis services in the greater Boston area. They provide free services to survivors, family members and the community.
The Lotus Elephants team began in 2008 by a group of determined young women dedicated to ending sexual violence. You may wonder where the name came from. Well, one of these determined young ladies felt really connected to the lotus flower because it is a beutiful flower that only grows in the worst conditions. Another one of the women shared a quote her father told her as a child - "How do you eat an Elephant? One bite at a time". In other words - things may feel like they are the size of an elephant but if you take one step at a time it will be much more managable. The women really liked both the lotus and the elephants meaning so they combined the two and created the "Lotus Elephants".
Come join this team of dedicated young women along with their family members, friends, and significant others on a walk to end sexual violence!
Don't forget to wear pink its the team color!!
If you are unable to walk on April 22, 2012 you can donate. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thank you so very much for your support and we hope to see you on April 22nd!!
