I am one of the Summit County Humane Officers and am proud to be a part of the Humane Society of Greater Akron team!  The work I get to do is so extremely important to the animals and good hearted people of this community and it is only because of the wonderful support we receive from all of our donors and volunteers that the work continues each and every day!!  

Our shelter is one of the ONLY shelters in the state of OH to not discriminate based on breed.  Whether it be a poodle or a pit bull, once it comes to us we do all that we can to rehabilitate and eventually find a loving home for each and every animal.  And it is certainly not just dogs and cats that we help.  In the last year, we have also rescued birds, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, turtles, sugar gliders, iguanas, and many many more.  Neglect and abandonment effects MANY types of animals!

I will proudly be attending this event with one of our shelter dogs and I am striving to raise as many pledges as I can so that my efforts in the community can only be THAT MUCH STRONGER this year than ever before.  So, please pledge whatever you can and allow me to continue fighting the battle on behalf of animals in desperate need of a helping hand.
